One of the few instances where audio is not recommended. First off due to Roy Dotrice narration being.... not good. Every character sounds like a 100 year old man. Second problem is that the books are so dense with so many unique names (and similarly sounding names) it is more difficult to follow along than most fantasy books. I listened to book 1, half of book 2, and then read the rest from there. AffC and DwD are generally regarded as being inferior to the first three. A lot of reasons why, I won't get into that. If you really love the series then continue on, but if you have a large backlog of books you can probably just stop at book 3 and watch the TV series to complete the story. The TV series closely follows books 1-3 and then diverges heavily (often for the better) when covering books 4 and 5. The show is currently far past the books and will conclude the story this year. It is doubtful that GRRM ever releases books 6 and 7. Perhaps if some miracle happens and he get books 6 and 7 out in the next 10 years then maybe go back and read books 4, 5 at that point.
That is my advice.
